With five days left of our trip, Ron and I wanted time to relax before our flights home to Ecuador. We opted for Agonda Bay, Goa.
Our hotel bungalow at Agonda Beach Resort, was basic but comfortable; the setting was idyllic – we were right on the beach!
Once we’d settled in and unpacked, we made for the sea. The crystal-clear water soothing and warm. I could feel the tension I’d carried while travelling disappear with each wave that rushed by me.
Those five days were the best of our trip because they were days of total relaxation – we slept well, ate well and went for long, lazy walks along the beach.
As our time in India drew to a close, I wished we had longer, time to explore and experience more of the real India. When I booked the trip, I knew I wouldn’t get another opportunity to travel to India and so tried to see as many of the famous sights as I could. When illness hit Ron and I, our energy levels were severely affected, our busy schedule also took its toll. Visits to many of the sights had to be curtailed or cancelled.
It wasn’t the trip I’d planned, but it was amazing! I fell in love with India, its people and traditions. If I ever have the opportunity to return, I most certainly will.
